“Extra’s” Charissa Thompson caught up with Billy Ray Cyrus at Universal Studios Hollywood to get to the bottom all those Miley rumors.
His daughter Miley recently reconciled with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth and even started wearing what appears to be an engagement ring.
Charissa asked when Miley was planning to tie the knot, but Billy Ray played coy, asking, "Which one? Oh, okay, Miley? 'Cause I have a lot of kids, you know." He added, "I don’t think there’s any plans set right now. Soon as I know, I’ll let you know."
He did set the record straight on Miley pregnancy rumors. “Um, no, there’s nothing like that.”
Cyrus also talked about his new show and passion project, “Still the King.” He stars as a dysfunctional Elvis impersonator “who lies himself into the church as a preacher.”
He added, “It’s just kind of a quirky comedy that’s unique. It’s a lot of fun, and we’ve got a great cast, great writers... having the time of my life!”
Explaining why the role resonates with him, he said, “Well, my grandfather was a Pentecostal preacher, and my mom and dad got divorced when I was 5, so I spent a lot of time with Pa-Paw, a lot of time in the church. And then yes, I do love Elvis, and finding that thin line between Elvis and Jesus.”
“Still the King” premieres on CMT at 9 PM on June 12.
