Jessie James Decker Reveals What Inspired Her to Record ‘Old Town Road’
Wednesday night, “Extra” Special Correspondent Alecia Davis spoke with Jessie James Decker backstage at the 2019 CMT Awards, where she dished on her rendition of “Old Town Road.”
Earlier this week, Decker released her take of the hit song by Lil Nas X, but how did it come about? She shared, “I was sitting at brunch and my brother was like, ‘You need to spice things up. You’re becoming an old lady. You need to get with the young people. You should cover this song.’ He played it for me and I had never heard this song before. I was like, ‘This is really cool.’ He was like, ‘I want you to trust me… please go and record this.’”
