Billy Porter on His Road to Superstardom
“Extra’s” Rachel Lindsay spoke with “Pose” star Billy Porter, who is narrating the HBO Max docuseries “Equal.”
Along with dishing on his new project, Porter also reflected on his road from Broadway to superstar. He said, “I was told that my queerness was my liability, and I would never be able to achieve any sort of crossover success that mattered. Everybody was right for a really long time and then they weren’t.”
Porter has won an Emmy, Tony, and a Grammy.
