Kobe Bryant’s Incredible Legacy: NBA Championships, an Oscar, Best-Selling Book, and More

He brought laser-focused intensity to his basketball career, but when Kobe Bryant retired, he didn’t leave that passion behind.

After 20 years and five NBA championships, Kobe left the court to pursue his other dreams.

Bryant formed Granity Studios and soon after won an Oscar for his animated short “Dear Basketball.”

He went on to write an audio series called “The Punies” and became a New York Times best-selling author with “The Wizenard Series: Training Camp.” The second book in the series will be released March 31.

Philanthropy was another passion. Kobe worked with five different charities, and in 2016 built the Mamba Sports Academy, where athletes of all levels could train.
