David Oyelowo’s Funny Story About President Obama & George Clooney, Plus: He Talks ‘Come Away’

“Extra’s” Rachel Lindsay caught up with David Oyelowo, who shared a funny story involving President Obama and George Clooney.

It turns out David had the chance to meet Obama after playing Martin Luther King Jr. in “Selma.” Oyelowo shared, “We have this dinner, he takes us into this room… and he shows us the Gettysburg Address in its glass cabinet. He starts reading it, he reads the whole thing, and I’m there going, ‘Oh, my goodness, this is mind-blowing. The words of Lincoln being read by the first Black president.’”

Fast-forward to David working with George Clooney on “The Midnight Sky.” David told George the story and “He goes, ‘Oh, yeah, yeah. He did that with me as well when I was at the White House.”

Oyelowo walked away wondering if it was a bit Obama did with all his visitors. “I thought this was this special unique thing that I had experienced, but no, no, no.”

David also opened up about working with Angelina Jolie on “Come Away.” Watch!
