Did Nicole Kidman’s Own Adoption Experience Have an Impact on Her ‘Lion’ Role?

Nicole Kidman’s role in the new movie “Lion”might be her most personal yet — the Oscar winner, an adoptive mother in real life, plays a woman whose son is searching for his long-lost biological family in India.

“Extra’s” Renee Bargh caught up with the actress, whose personal experience adopting two children with ex-husband Tom Cruise affected her role. “Obviously, I connected through that,” Nicole said. "I’m just so grateful to be a part of it."

When it comes to Kidman’s superstar status, her two kids with husband Keith Urban don’t seem to be impressed. “I’d love to say they’re big fans. Whenever you say, ‘You want to see this?’ They’re like, ‘Uh, do we have to?’ They’re like that with Keith, too. When we were on the tour bus, I go, ‘You should go out and watch Daddy play,’ and they’re like, ‘Do we have to?’ I’m like, ‘Shhhh.’"

Make sure to grab the tissues and see “Lion,” in theaters November 25.
