Kobe Bryant Calls Oscars a ‘Surreal Experience’

“Extra’s” Mario Lopez caught up with Kobe Bryant on the Oscars red carpet ahead of his big win for Best Animated Short for the film “Dear Basketball.”

The movie, based on Kobe’s poem of the same name, is a love letter to the sport that changed his life. Bryant teamed up with iconic animator Glen Keane and legendary composer John Williams for the project.

When asked what it would feel like to be the first NBA champion with an Oscar, he replied, "It's crazy just to be here and be nominated. I never, ever thought we'd be here. I never thought I'd have the chance to work with Glen Keane, who is one of the greatest animators of all time, and John Williams! So this whole thing is kind of a surreal experience. This is nuts"
