Dolly Parton Raises Millions in 'Smoky Mountains Rise’ Telethon

Dolly Parton’s "Smoky Mountains Rise” telethon has raised millions of dollars for the victims of the Gatlinburg, Tennessee wildfires Tuesday night.

The event included many celebrities, including Reba McEntire, Hank Williams Jr., Kenny Rogers, Big & Rich, Lauren Alaina, Alabama, Locash, and Amy Grant.

The Tennessee native said of the event, “It’s a wonderful thing. All of my friends, celebrity friends and relatives are going far beyond what I ever imagined that they might. It’s so greatly appreciated by me and by the people back home.”

The telethon was in coordination with Dolly’s My People Fund, Dollywood Foundation and area businesses.
