Leslie Odom Jr. Calls Golden Globe Noms ‘Deeply Meaningful,’ Plus: He Talks ‘Sopranos’ Prequel

Leslie Odom Jr. is celebrating a big Golden Globes morning! He’s up for two awards for “One Night in Miami,” including Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture and Best Original Song for “Speak Now.”

“Hamilton,” his big break, made a splash as a live-performance movie on Disney+ this year, and is now up for Best Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy.

“Extra’s” Rachel Lindsay caught up with Leslie, who said, “It is a deeply meaningful moment. ‘Hamilton’ is where I began… so [it’s just] the fact that is even a part of a moment like this, where my beginning is included on the day my most recent work is recognized.”

He also teased his next project, a prequel to “The Sopranos” called “The Many Saints of Newark.” Watch!
