Why Natalie Portman Is Missing Oscars 2017

Oscar nominee Natalie Portman is skipping the star-studded extravaganza today.
On Saturday, Portman released a statement, just before the Independent Spirit Awards took place. She shared with Variety, "Due to my pregnancy, I am unable to attend the Independent Spirit Awards and the Academy Awards. I feel so lucky to be honored among my fellow nominees and wish them the most beautiful of weekends.”
Natalie is nominated for Best Actress for her role in “Jackie.” Seven years ago, she won the award for “Black Swan.”
The 35-year-old is pregnant with her second child with husband Benjamin Millepied.
