Camila Alves McConaughey Raves About Husband Matthew After His COVID-19 Video Goes Viral

The McConaughey family is staying home in Texas during the COVID-19 outbreak, and they are encouraging others to do the same.
“Extra's” Renee Bargh FaceTimed with lifestyle expert Camila Alves McConaughey, who opened up about how they are coping.
Camila shared, “We are doing well, very grateful that we have my mother-in-law here to be with us, and we are just staying in and staying safe and trying to help people who are out there really in need right now.”
Last week, Camila's husband Matthew appeared in a public service announcement released online by Gov. Greg Abbott's office. In the PSA, the Academy Award-winning actor and Texas native delivered a simple message to residents of the Lone Star State, saying, “If you can, stay home.” She noted that it was Matthew's idea to do the video. She said. “That was all him, all him, I take no credit… The man is a great writer, a great philosopher, and he shares from his heart.”
The couple is also giving back with their Just Keep Livin Foundation. She commented, “We work very closely with kids in title one schools, and as you know, most of the schools are closed right now and an average of 80 percent of those kids rely on that one school meal a day as their main source of food, and right now, because the schools are closed, they don't have access to it… We are doing our own part on this, but we are inviting everyone: If you are looking to donate, looking to help, you can go to the JustKeepLivingFoundation.org website. You can go to the Women of Today website, and you can help people in tremendous need right now.”
Camila dished on ways to stay fit, too, saying, “We are going to be doing livestreaming five days a week 11:45 central on my feed. We are going to be doing mobility work and we are going to have things for elders and things for kids — everybody can do it.”
Does she have tips for eating? She dished, “I think people look at leftovers and say, 'I don't want to eat the same thing,' so being from Brazil, we have this thing... basically, you look in your refrigerator, look in your freezer, you have to create something out of your leftovers on a completely different day.”
“So I think that's one fun way to get the family and the kids involved in the kitchen as well,” Camila emphasized.
Matthew is involved, too. She noted, “When it comes to meat, I don't play, I don't touch it — that's his category. You know, we're all helping cook and clean and do everything we need to do.”
