Alec Baldwin Might Not Play Trump on ‘SNL’ Much Longer

Star Alec Baldwin has quickly become a fan favorite playing President Donald Trump on “Saturday Night Live,” but the actor isn't sure how much longer he will do it.

“Extra's” Mario Lopez sat down with Alec to talk about his new movie, “Boss Baby,” as well as “SNL” and the president. Baldwin said he hoped things would have changed once Trump took office. “Trump just overwhelmingly lacks any sportsmanship, he remains, bitter, and angry, and you just want to look at him and go, 'You won!'”

He continued, “His policies aside, which you can hate, I thought he would have just relaxed.” Alec added, “The maliciousness of this White House has people worried… that's why I'm not going to do it much longer, the impersonation, I don't know how much more people can take it.”

The actor also isn't sure the White House Correspondents' Dinner is the place for him to showcase Trump. “I don't think it's going to happen, I don't think they want that, for their [prestige] and their integrity, I think a lot of people are thinking if Trump himself doesn't come and face the music as it were… I don't know what kind of program they're going to have.”

He went on, “If they wanted me to do it, I would probably do it, but I'm not quite sure they'll do. I think they may have a whole other idea.”

Baldwin also talked “Boss Baby,” in which he voices a suit-wearing, briefcase-carrying baby who pairs up with his 7-year-old brother to stop the dastardly plot of the CEO of Puppy Co. Alec told Mario, “I love doing animated films,” while joking about just welcoming a new baby at home. “I'm the sibling in my family that is squeezed out by the arrival of a child. I wish I had my wife to myself again.”

Loving spending time with his kids and wife Hilaria, Alec said having a young family has impacted the way he looks at work. “It has limited what I do work-wise,” adding, "But I don't care because I am happy to stay home and find things I can do at home.”

Alec, who is dad to Ireland, 21, Carmen, 3, Rafael, 20 months and Leonardo, 5 months, gave an update on his three youngest.

He said of Leonardo, “I try to have some time to be with my young son to connect with him. When I see him, he lights up and he smiles.”

Rafael wants to go on adventures with daddy. “He grabs me by the hand and wants me to go everywhere with him that he wants to go.”

Alec revealed Carmen could have a future in entertainment. “My daughter Carmen is a talk show host, she's going to work for you.”
