Halle Berry Talks Family Vacay with Kids, Plus: Her Stance on Social Media

Last night, only “Extra's” Tanika Ray was with Halle Berry at the Imagine Cocktail Party Fundraiser for the Jenesse Center, the oldest domestic violence intervention center in Los Angeles.

Halle just back from a family vacation in Bora Bora with daughter Nahla and son Maceo. The “suntanned” actress dished, “We took this amazing tour with this amazing guide, we tasted local food, went into local homes, learned about their history, all of these things that makes up their culture, from someone of the culture.”

She went on, “They can read about this stuff, but going there, touching things, eating food, hearing the French language, hearing the music, the songs they play, all of that will stay with them for life.”

Berry, who has 2.8 million followers on Instagram, shared her take on social media, saying, “I know. It took me a while. I was a latecomer… But you know, as an artist and as a woman that has something to say, it gives me my own voice, my own outlet. I can show the world through my eyes. I can talk about what I want to talk about and not talk about what I don't want to talk about… I'm the boss of my page! And if you don't like it, don't come to it, there's a trillion others.”

Halle has been working with the Jenesse Center for nearly two decades. She commented, “It's one of the best things I do, so it's not that crazy,” adding, “I care about women. I care about children, and Karen Earl who runs this program like no other.”

Along with praising Karen, Halle emphasized, “All the money and the resources go to these women and she changes lives, one woman, one family at a time.”

Halle is hopeful for the future, explaining, “Well, because I'm here for Jenesse I imagine where there's no domestic violence and we don't have a need for a shelter like the Jenessee Center… That's what I'm imagining… That is our dream… That we don't have a need for these shelters anymore.”
