Russell Wilson Says a Dream Changed His Life: 'I Knew God Was Trying to Tell Me Something'

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, 28, is looking back at his already storied career in a new video for Makers.

In the interview, Wilson recalls a dream he had as a teenager that changed the course of his life.

“I was a kid that was a troublemaker. I was beating people up,” he confessed. “I'll never forget — I was 14 years old, I have a dream that Jesus walks in the room. I wake up startled, I go to church and my heart started opening up. I started to listen. I knew God was trying to tell me something and my life started changing that very moment.”

Of course, fans know Russell went on to be a breakout football star in high school and earned a scholarship to North Carolina State University, where he convinced his coach to let him play quarterback even though he was only 5'11".

Wilson was later drafted by the Seahawks and was the first rookie quarterback to lead his team to a Super Bowl win.

The star athlete is now married to singer Ciara and they just welcomed their first child together, Sienna. Russell is also stepdad to Ciara's son Future.
