Stewart McLean, an actor reported missing May 18, has been found dead — with police working on the theory that he was the victim of a homicide.
McLean, 45, was last seen in his Lions Bay, British Columbia, home in Canada on May 15.
Canada's Integrated Homicide Investigation Team confirmed Friday his remains had been found in the area of his home, People magazine reports. The crime is thought to be an isolated incident.
Just the day before the grim discovery, authorities announced they believed he was dead — and had likely been killed. "Squamish RCMP initiated an investigation and, through investigative efforts, uncovered evidence that led investigators to believe Mr. McLean was victim of homicide," Integrated Homicide announced Thursday.
When the sad news broke, Jodi Caplan of McLean's talent agency, Lucas Talent Inc., remembered him on Facebook with the following statement: "It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved client, Stew McLean. I was fortunate to have worked with Stew for more than 10 years."
"He was always such a pleasure to deal with — dedicated, professional, eager, and endlessly funny! Many casting directors have reached out to share their condolences with Stew’s family and with our agency, and every message says the same thing: what a truly great guy he was, and how deeply he will be missed."
McLean had racked up nearly 40 credits since 2015, including "Supernatural" (2017), "Happy Face" (2025), and a 2026 episode of "Virgin River."
