Diane Keaton’s Death Certificate Reveals How Long She Battled Pneumonia

Less than a week after her sudden passing, Diane Keaton’s death certificate has been released.
Her immediate cause of death has been listed as primary bacterial pneumonia, which she was battling in the days leading up to her passing.
No other contributing factors were listed in the death certificate obtained by People magazine.
According to the certificate, Keaton was cremated three days after her death on October 11.
TMZ reports that a longtime friend of Diane's told them the actress was "struggling with an unnamed illness" leading up to her death. The insider said the decline in Keaton's health meant news of her passing was "not a shock."
On Wednesday, Keaton’s family released her cause of death in a statement to People.
They wrote, “The Keaton family are very grateful for the extraordinary messages of love and support they have received these past few days on behalf of their beloved Diane, who passed away from pneumonia on October 11.”
Keaton left behind her two kids Dexter and Duke.

Keaton’s friend Carole Bayer Sager recently recalled their final meeting.
She told People magazine, “I saw her two or three weeks ago, and she was very thin. She had lost so much weight."
