Rebel Wilson Dropped 60 Lbs., Now She’s Dropping Bombshells About Her ‘Year of Health’

Rebel Wilson got candid on Instagram Live about losing weight, her boyfriend Jacob Busch, and possibly having kids one day.

The actress recently revealed she’s lost about 60 lbs. over the past year, and already reached her goal weight of 165!

Wilson confirmed she kicked off her journey with a trip to VIVAMAYR, a wellness center in Austria, saying, “I did go to a professional place to detox,” adding that she bookended her journey with another trip to the center in recent weeks.

"I was determined in 2020 — the year of health — to actually fully change my whole entire lifestyle," she said. "So it meant not only, like, physically, but mentally as well."

She said one reason she decided to focus on her health was the idea of becoming a mother one day. “I was thinking about fertility and having good-quality eggs in the bank, so I was like, ‘Okay, I’m going to do this. I’m going to get healthy.’”

She also revealed that walking has been a big part of her weight-loss journey.

The 40-year old said, "I’m in a lucky position... I do have access to really amazing personal trainers, but I want you guys to know that the majority of the exercise that I’ve done this year has just been me going out for a walk. That is free, you can do it, it’s safe."

She recommends finding a podcast or audio book and hitting the sidewalk or trail, "I know it’s getting colder… but just give it a go. If you can do an hour — that’s what I like to do when I go walking — it is the best. Just get your body moving."

Wilson is also into lifting weights, saying, "Ladies, don’t be afraid of weights. I frickin' love lifting weights. It just makes you feel, like, really strong.”

The “Pitch Perfect” star followed a plan that cuts back on sugar and gluten, focusing on foods like veggies and fresh fish. Typically, she tries to stay below 1,500 calories per day, and drinks lots of water. She also journals and eats mindfully.

Using chicken as an example, she said, "You feel satisfied and then you stop eating. Whereas if I’m eating a whole frickin’ bag of chips, I’m just, like, devouring that and suddenly there’s a ton of calories and game over and yeah, no weight loss that week."

As for her boyfriend Jacob, she said, "He's a very private person, so I don't like to give away too much in that department. But I will say we dated before I started any of this health journey, as well as now."

Rebel added, "So that goes to show you, ladies: you don’t have to be a certain size to get a boyfriend.”
