Going Virtual! Rosie O’Donnell Talks Annual Rosie’s Theater Kids Gala

The 17th Annual Rosie's Theater Kids Gala is coming to you virtually — and all for a good cause!
“Extra's” Jenn Lahmers caught up with Rosie O'Donnell, who dished on what fans can expect.
She revealed, “The cast of 'Ain't Too Proud' is going to perform… just like every charity now, we are trying to keep going. Our gala every year [raised] foundational money that we use to run the programs all year. So this year it's going to be a big challenge.”
The star also shared what Rosie's Theater Kids has been up to during the pandemic. “The Broadway community has really helped, they've been doing private concerts with students over the summer, all with COVID masks and everything. We are now doing singing and dancing remotely, which is not the easiest thing to do, but we are doing it.”
This year, the gala is called “Together We Rise — Zoom In: Rise Up!” Fans can head to RosiesTheaterKids.org or BroadwayWorld.com at 7 p.m. ET on October 21 to watch the event and donate to the cause.
