Months after his death at age 43, “Black Panther” star Chadwick Boseman’s widow Taylor Simone Ledward has filed a probate case, since he left no will.
In court documents obtained by TMZ, Ledward requested to be named administrator of Chadwick’s estate.
Typically speaking, when someone dies without a will in place and has no children, their spouse inherits all the assets in the probate case.
It is unclear when they actually tied the knot, but Page Six reported that they got engaged in October. News of their marriage went public after his death from colon cancer. A statement on his Instagram revealed he died at home, with his “wife and family by his side.”
The docs note that Boseman was also survived by his parents.
At the time of his death, Boseman was reportedly worth $12 million. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he earned $2 million alone for his role in “Black Panther.”
It is highly likely that Boseman protected his other assets with private trusts.
