Alfonso Ribeiro and his “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” co-star Will Smith have been friends for 30 years!
“Extra’s” Nate Burleson caught up with Alfonso days after Will paid tribute to him on his birthday. He said, “It’s wonderful… Having lifelong friendships is what we all dream to have… We talk all the time. It’s a great friendship.”
The whole cast is still close, he explained, adding, “I’m lucky that… most of the cast, that’s family now. It’s almost not even friendships. Those are family members.”
The cast recently reunited for an HBO Max special, and Ribeiro said, “It was wonderful… It was great to see everybody again. We get together all the time… Really what’s wonderful is when we get to do it as a whole.”
He revealed something special fans will see, sharing, “I think people will really enjoy the reunion. There are some really wonderful moments in the missing of James Avery.”
Lucky fans can even stay at the mansion featured in the show, and some of the cast created an epic video. “I wasn’t there… I think they went over to the mansion… and I think they’re doing some Airbnb where people can rent the house and there’s a bedroom or something that’s ‘Fresh Prince’ themed,” he said.
Meanwhile, Alfonso and his family have been enjoying life on the road during quarantine. “I bought this RV behind me and we decided to basically travel the entire country… I’ve done over 12,000 miles in the RV… We took this opportunity to take a really horrible time for all of us in the country into something at least positive for our children,” he said.
He’s also helping put a positive spin on Halloween in the pandemic with a new app called Treat Town. “This is a great way to have Halloween without going out… They will be able to trick or treat… using avatars… but they will also be able to redeem the actual candy from stores.”
