Just seven months after his wife Beth passed away, it looks like Dog the Bounty Hunter, 66, is ready to take the next step in his relationship with Moon Angell.
On a new episode of “The Dr. Oz Show,” Dog shocked everyone by proposing to Moon, asking, “Moon Angell, will you marry me?”
Even Moon seemed taken aback at the proposal.
According to TMZ, Dog told Moon that he was in love with her and was talking to God, who told him to propose.
The taping happened last week, but the outlet noted that they are not engaged. Though he popped the question, he did not go down on one knee with a ring during the taped episode.
The source claimed that Dog was very emotional and got caught up in the moment, but there are no engagement plans in the works.
The TV proposal comes just weeks after Dog defended his relationship with Moon, who is his son’s ex-girlfriend and Beth’s former assistant.
He told RadarOnline.com, “Who knows what my future holds, but right now I need her. There will never be another Mrs. Dog, but that doesn't mean I have to be so sad.”
“She has been with my family through many ups and downs,” Dog continued. “All my children are grown and gone on their own, there's no one left to help me!”
Earlier this month, a source close to Dog recently insisted that Dog and Moon aren’t dating. They told People magazine, “Moon has been a family friend to Beth and Dog for years. Since Beth’s death, she has stepped in to help Dog in his time of need. There will never be another Beth.”
Last year, Dog pointed out that he is open to finding love, but won’t ever remarry. He shared with People, “What deal we said is I will never take ‘Beth’ off my chest. I have her name here. And I will never get married. And she said to me, ‘We are human, okay?’ And probably the same thing I’d say to her: ‘I know you’re gonna have a boyfriend, I hope you have 10, but don’t go fricking marry one, and say those words. Don’t you dare do that.’ I would say that, and she did say that to me.”
