Only “Extra’s” Renee Bargh was with Nick Cage for a rare one-on-one at the premiere of “Color Out of Space.” Nick was decked out in a studded leather jacket with red and leopard accents as he told Renee, “I wanted to dress for the night. I’m excited about the movie.”

The film is about a family battling a mutant extraterrestrial organism after a meteorite lands on their farm. He explained, “It’s a fascinating combination of family drama and horror, and those are two of my favorite genres… in this movie they collide. I’m a big admirer of H.P. Lovecraft, and I always loved Richard Stanley’s movies. I was happy we had a chance to work together. He hasn’t made a movie in 20 years.”

The Oscar winner also gave his take on this year’s nominations, saying, “Yeah, yeah, it’s a really competitive year. I just think they should all get it.” One of his top picks was “Marriage Story,” starring Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson as a couple going through a divorce.

“I think that’s a very important movie,” said Cage, who has been married four times. “I think anyone who’s even considering divorce — and the families — it should be required viewing. Having been through it, family law is absolutely the worst.”

The star went on to talk about what he’s up to today, telling Renee he’s “having a great time.”

“I’m really loving it. I feel like I’m having the chance to work with great actors and really exciting directors — it’s been 40 years now.” Renee, taken back, asked, “What?” but Nicolas insisted of his career, “Forty years.”

There are no secrets to staying young, Nick said, saying only, “I like to exercise. I’ve been exercising religiously since I was 12.”

When he’s not working, Nick said he likes to “spend time with my boys [Kal-El and Weston]. I like to read and I love watching movies. I’m a real cinephile.”

Cage has seen and done it all in Hollywood. He even shared his craziest fan encounter with Renee, saying, “I know it sounds funny, but it was terrifying… It was a home invasion…I was asleep at 2 in the morning and my young son at the time was in the other room and I woke up and there was a naked man who had gotten my leather jacket, eating a fudgesicle in front of my bed. I woke up and I used Verbal Judo and I just said, ‘Get out of my house.’”

“Color Out of Space” is in theaters January 24.
