Christina Anstead’s New Year is off to a good start!
She has been happily married to British TV presenter Ant Anstead for a year now, and their blended family is going strong.
“Extra’s” Renee Bargh caught up with Christina, who opened up about her baby boy, working and co-parenting with her ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, and her latest projects.
Christina and Ant welcomed son Hudson three months ago, a little brother to their children from previous relationships. Christina has Taylor Reese, 9, and Brayden James, 4, with Tarek, while Ant has Amelia Rose, 16, and Archie, 13, with ex-wife Louise Anstead.
Christina admitted, “Having a newborn is hard… I feel like luckily you get kinda PTSD and forget. By six months you say, ‘I wish I had enjoyed that more,’ but when you’re in it you’re like, ‘This is tough.’”
The reality star is busy working as well, co-parenting and shooting HGTV’s “Flip or Flop” with El Moussa. How do they make it work? “I think if you just make it about the kids… that's really the most important. We just had a recital for Taylor, and Taylor's face just lights up when we're all together… at the end of the day we're both, you know, trying to raise the best kids we can and that's all that really matters.”
She is also hosting the second season of her own show, “Christina on the Coast” and co-authored a new book with Cara Clark called “The Wellness Remodel,” which hits stores in April.
Christina explained, “I talk about just dealing with stress and things I do to manage stress, different workouts… how I adjust working out based on like what my body's going through… I hope people just get more in tuned with their body… and their mind.”
