Niecy Nash looked amazing in a stunning red gown with a dramatic slit as she attended the Glamour Women of the Year Awards Monday in NYC!
The star opened up to “Extra’s” Cheslie Kryst about taking to social media to announce her divorce from Jay Tucker.
Nash, 49, explained, “It was just a part of our lives that we are in, because we are really great friends who still love each other. The love has just transitioned into a different type, and so we just said, ‘Let’s let the world catch up to where we have already been,’ because by the time you get it, the news is real old in our lives.”
She smiled and said, “That’s my friend. He always will be.”
Joking about her look, she said, “I’m out here working and it’s the only thing I have in my suitcase that wasn’t sweatpants.”
She also addressed all the anticipation for the fourth and final season of her hit series “Claws,” admitting she's on the edge of her seat, too! “Oh, girl, I wish I could tell you," she said. "I haven’t seen a script yet… I’m hoping to see what happens with the crew, 'cause we left on such a huge cliffhanger and I want to see what happens with these ladies.”
Niecy presented an award to Ava DuVernay, who directed her in this year's "When They See Us." Nash said of the filmmaker, "She is a dear friend, first of all… I am lucky to know her as a director, I am blessed to call her a friend."
