Miley Cyrus Undergoes Emergency Vocal Cord Surgery
Miley Cyrus has undergone vocal cord surgery on an emergency basis.
People magazine reports that Cyrus was hospitalized with tonsillitis last month, at which time it was discovered she was suffering from a different issue.
Along with the surgery, Cyrus — who has left the hospital — will need to be on vocal rest for "several weeks," a big issue for her as she has been in the midst of recording new music. She had announced she was on vocal rest three weeks ago, possibly in preparation for her secret surgery.
A source tells People that she is "doing great," and that she expects to "be back and better than every early next year."
Her boyfriend, Cody Simpson, posted a smiling pic of himself with Miley and the word "success," reason to believe the operation went well.
