Country Star Jana Kramer & Husband Michael Caussin on Overcoming Cheating: 'We're Gonna Make It Work'

"Extra" Special Correspondent Kelly Rizzo sat down with country music star Jana Kramer and her ex-NFL star husband Michael Caussin as the couple got candid about working through their struggles, and about turning negatives into positives, with their hit podcast “Whine Down.”

Michael's infidelity nearly ruined their marriage, but Jana said, "My husband and I, when everything went down, my therapist was like, 'Give it a year.'”

They chose to work through it and made the decision to go public with his sex-addiction battle and the fight to save their marriage, talking about it all on “Whine Down.” Jana told Kelly, “We've definitely had some challenges, but it's been fun along the way.”

Jana's biggest advice for others? "You have to give yourself time.” She went on to say, “I think taking time and really working on your relationship and going to therapy and giving it the space and the empathy that it needs… Work on it, and that's only gonna strengthen your relationship when you have issues.”

Kelly commented what a commitment that would be, and Jana replied, "Well, it takes two people, though. Like, if he wasn't doing the work or I wasn't doing the work, then the person should 100 percent leave.”

Michael said, “We can do it... We've learned that we both work in different ways.”

He added, “Early on, we tried to encourage the other to work our way. Now, we realize, 'Okay, you work this way, I work that way.' We're gonna make it work.”
