“Dateline” correspondent Andrea Canning is a mom for the sixth time!
The 46-year-old and her husband, USMC Lt. Col. Tony Bancroft, welcomed a baby boy they named George Anthony Bancroft III. Their bundle of joy, who will go by Tripp, weighed 9 lbs., 7 oz., and measured 22 inches.
Canning told People magazine, “We are beyond blessed to have this (big) little man in our lives. His five older sisters are over the moon and ready to welcome the first baby boy into the family!”
The couple are also the parents of Elle, 4, Georgia Rapalje, 5, Christina Margaret, 6½, Charlotte Brewster, 9, and Anna Katherine, 10.
Canning announed she was pregnant on New Year’s Eve. In a video posted on "Dateline’s" Twitter, she said, “In 2019, I’m having a baby! But will it be a boy or a girl? Let’s find out!”
After popping a balloon filled with blue confetti, she exclaimed, “It’s a boy! After five girls, it’s a boy! Happy New Year!”
In January, Andrea expressed on "Today" that she “wanted a boy so badly” after having five girls.
While noting that her “window was closing” on having more kids, she shared, “I honestly didn’t think it would work. And here we are.”
Andrea and Tony have been married since 2008. She made sure to show her apprecation to Tony, commenting, “He’s the dad that’s doing everything at night when I’m falling asleep. He’s Mr. Energizer Bunny.”
Hopefully, we’ll get to see a precious photo of her baby boy soon!
