TV personality Ellen DeGeneres is working her magic on Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani.
On Wednesday's episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” she gifted Blake with a clock that features a pic of him kissing Gwen.
She explained her gift, saying, “So Jennifer Lopez was here and I wanted to help her out with A-Rod, because she wanted to marry him, obviously, like Gwen wants to marry you. And I gave her a clock that she could give to him, like, 'The clock is ticking, time is passing.' I gave her the clock, and literally a week later he proposed to her.”
After receiving the gift, Shelton joked, “So you're saying there's a chance she's gonna ask me to marry her, with this clock?”
Ellen responded, “I'll call her tonight. I'll tell her she's waiting for you.”
His sit-down with Ellen comes just days after Blake took Gwen and her kids to the “UglyDolls” premiere in Los Angeles. He pointed out to “Extra's” Terri Seymour on the red carpet, “It's a rare thing for Gwen and I to even get out at all. We don't really get a chance to do anything. One of the two of us are working or the kids are in school — it just never works out for us to all go out. We get to do it about four or five times a year — this is one of them."
Blake noted that his “cool points went up” with Gwen's sons, Kingston, 12, Zuma, 10, and Apollo, 5, thanks to his role as Ox in the movie, which hits theaters May 3.
A few months ago, Gwen made an appearance on Ellen's show, where she didn't fall for any tricks. When Ellen asked, “So Blake told me that y'all are engaged now,” Gwen responded, “No, he didn't. No, we're not. No, we're not. No, we're not.”
Ellen, who has been known for joking with the couple about their romance, continued with her act, saying, “Yes, he told me you're engaged so let's talk about that.” Laughing, Gwen insisted, “We're not. We're not engaged, and we're not married. And he's my boyfriend still.”
In a December appearance on "Today," Gwen stressed that “there is zero pressure” to get engaged to Blake. "[You] get to a place where you find somebody that's like your best friend, that you know you can depend on and trust and go through life. We're just trying to be in the moment as much as we can.”
Around the same time, Blake dodged the engagement question while chatting with Terri Seymour. When Terri asked Blake if there would be any special engagement announcement, Blake played coy, saying, “Yeah, she's doing a show, it's an important engagement — it's a New Year's party.”
Gwen and Blake, who have been dating since late 2015, have been the subject of engagement rumors for years.
We'll have to see if Ellen's gift works on Gwen and Blake.
