Miley Cyrus Dishes on Married Life and Shawn Mendes Collaboration Rumors
Miley Cyrus came out to support her godmother, country icon Dolly Parton, as Dolly was honored as the MusiCares Person of the Year Friday night at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Miley looked amazing in a black-sequined minidress, attending with her parents, Billy Ray and Trish Cyrus.
Sparkling personality — and everything else, too!
Miley dished to "Extra's" Renee Bargh on married life less than two months after she tied the knot with actor Liam Hemsworth, saying, "It seems pretty good. I haven't stopped working and he has a movie coming out Monday — I am going to the premiere — so we're both just running around and working harder than ever." Renee asked if we should refer to Miley as Miley Hemsworth now, but the singer and actress replied, "Miley is just fine. Just Miley and Dolly — we keep it one name."
Trish and Billy Ray commented on their daughter's nuptials, with Billy recalling, "It was amazing." Miley jumped in to observe, "If he didn't get so drunk it would have been great — just kidding, he doesn't drink." Miley said Billy gave an "amazing" speech.
The proud parents
Trish, too, had fond memories of her daughter's wedding, telling Renee, "It was absolutely amazing."
Miley said she was so honored to be sharing the night with Dolly, saying the best piece of advice Dolly ever gave her was, “She says never judge a book by its cover, or its huge boobs or its big hair... The next time I see a book with huge t***, it will be very interesting, excuse my language."
Never judge a book by its cover, but these covers suggest a couple of page-turners!
Fans freaked out this week when news broke that Miley and Shawn Mendes may be working on new music together, so you know "Extra" had to ask! "I know I am married," Miley said, "but I get crazy when I see a photo of Shawn, too." Renee asked if Shawn might qualify as a hall pass in her relationship, but Miley laughed, clarifying, "He's not a hall pass — I just get to look. I don't need to touch, I just look."
Tune in to the Grammys Sunday at 8 p.m. ET to see Dolly perform new music and be celebrated by artists like Katy Perry, Ricky Martin, Little Big Town, and more.
