Christie Brinkley Talks Daughter Sailor’s 'Bumpy' Move to Australia
Ageless supermodel Christie Brinkley stepped out in NYC to celebrate Season 2 of Lifetime's “American Beauty Star," the reality series that's looking for the next great hair or makeup artist.
“Extra's” AJ Calloway caught up with Brinkley, who opened up about her 20-year-old daughter Sailor Brinkley Cook moving to Australia to follow in Mom's supermodel footsteps. The mother of three shared, “She's living in Australia now… The first call I get from her: 'Mom, Mom, there's two guys in my door, one is shirtless with a ski mask over his head and they're banging on the neighbor's door!'"
Christie's response? "Okay, okay, do not move, keep your doors locked.'" She jumped into action to "get her out of that building... Now she's in a good place... It was really scary."
Sailor moved to a safer living situation, but even models need their flu shots. "The next call was she got the flu, and I was like, 'We are off to a bumpy start.' Now, everything is like, 'I love it here!'"
Christie is starting to help her other daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, 33, plan her wedding, saying, “Over the holidays, she said, 'Mom, let's get going and start planning.' I'm gonna try my best to, I don't know, help her dream come true.”
Of saying yes to her “American Beauty Star” judging gig, the 64-year-old said, “I was kind of, 'Why not? Sounds like it would be fun,' and it was... It was so much fun! Hair, makeup, clothes — it's what we love.”
Christie added, “It's hard to be a judge… I hope that I give constructive criticism when I have to be critical, but I try to accentuate the positive.”
“American Beauty Star” airs Wednesday nights on Lifetime.
