Christina El Moussa and Ant Anstead tied the knot in a secret ceremony on Saturday, reports People.
The couple surprised 70 friends and family members by inviting them to meet up at their home in Newport Beach, CA with plans to take a charter bus to the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade.
The guests had no idea they were actually arriving to a wedding. The “Flip or Flop” star and “Wheelers Dealers” host said “I do” under an altar in the front yard. El Moussa told People she kept “checking the internet to see if anyone found out.”
“Then the day we went to get our marriage license, the guy working was like hyperventilating, excited,” she said. “We had to tell him this is a huge secret. No one knows.” Christina said everything went according to plan. “It was just perfect for us. Everything we wanted.”
The HGTV star, who wore a lace dress by Ines Di Santo, said, “We wanted it to be rustic romance,” adding, “I wanted a Maestros theme, like a nice steakhouse.”
Family was an important part of the wedding too. Christina has daughter Taylor, 8, and son Brayden, 3, with ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, while Ant has two children from a previous marriage to Louise Anstead, Amelie, 15, and son Archie, 12.
“We wanted to make it about the kids,” Anstead said. “It’s the six of us. We’re a blended family so it was really important for them to be a part of it.”
El Moussa also confirmed she will be changing her name. “It has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?” she pointed out. “Christina Anstead. We couldn’t be any happier!”
Christina and Ant started dating in October 2017.
