Kensington Palace has confirmed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expecting their first child.
The official statement announced, "Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019. Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”
Meghan's mom Doria Ragland released her own statement via Kensington Palace, saying, "Ms. Ragland is very happy about this lovely news and she looks forward to welcoming her first grandchild.”
Harry and Meghan shared the news with the royal family on Friday at Princess Eugenie's wedding. Kensington Palace said, "The Queen, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall and the Duke Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted for the couple and were able to congratulate them on Friday at the wedding in person.”
A source told People Meghan had a 12-week scan and is "feeling well."
The confirmation comes after a flurry of rumors that Meghan could be pregnant.
The glamorous royals began dating in July 2016, went public that October, and were wed on May 19 of this year.
Harry and Meghan are currently on their first royal tour, arriving hand-in-hand in Australia Monday morning.
