Kyle Pavone, lead singer of the rock band We Came as Romans, died Saturday at 28, People magazine reports.

The metalcore band posted a notice of Pavone's death on their official Twitter and Instagram that read, "Today music lost another great with the passing of Kyle Pavone of We Came as Romans. Kyle’™s tragic loss came too early in his life and those of his bandmates. All are devastated by his passing. We will miss his smiles, his sincerity, his concern for others, and his impressive musical talent."

In lieu of flowers, the band said they would soon provide info regarding charity donations.

"The family and the band wish to thank their fans and the music community for all of their love and support as they navigate their grief," the statement continued, ending with the lyric, "Will I Be Remembered or Will I Be Lost in Loving Eyes?” from the band's song "Promise Me." Pavone had tweeted the same lyric earlier in August.

TMZ reports that Pavone was hospitalized in Michigan, the band's home state, August 19. No cause of death has been given, pending a toxicology report.
