“Extra’s” AJ Calloway caught up with “13 Reasons Why” star Kate Walsh, who just completed filming Season 2 of the hit Netflix drama.
Spilling details on the upcoming season, Kate teased in NYC, “Very intense... It deals with very dark and polarizing and controversial in-the-zeitgeist issues the way Season 1 did, but it has a very redemptive and hopeful message this season.”
Kate plays Mrs. Baker, the grieving mother whose daughter Hannah has committed suicide. Kate commented, “You see Mrs. Baker develop relationships with different kids to find out more about Hannah and what happened... A lot of insane stuff happens!”
Walsh, who has spoken openly about surviving surgery to remove a benign brain tumor in 2015, is feeling good these days! She shared, “It’s kind of like rebooting the computer so as soon as I came out of surgery I was myself again.”
She’s returned to her New York roots, but what’s one of her favorite spots? Kate said, “Cafe Luxembourg is an all-time great on the Upper West Side. I used to wait tables there so I like to go back in. It's awesome.” She tells the staff when she drops by, “I used to work here, guys! It gets better!”
