Report: Billionaire Matthew Mellon Dies in Rehab Facility

Billionaire heir and Jimmy Choo guru Tamara Mellon's ex-husband Matthew Mellon has passed away at the age of 53.
His family rep said in a statement to Page Six, “Billionaire Matthew Mellon, 53, died suddenly in Cancun, Mexico, where he was attending a drug rehabilitation facility.”
“Mellon made his fortune in cryptocurrency, turning a $2 million investment into $1 billion. He is survived by his three children, Force, Olympia and Minty,” the statement continued. “The family asks that their privacy be respected at this very painful time.”
In the past, Matthew struggled with addiction. In 2016, he checked into a Malibu treatment center to seek help with his addiction to OxyContin. At the time, he told Page Six, “I'm here as long as it takes.”
