Late night personality Seth Meyers had quite the baby emergency on Sunday!
Meyers’ wife Alexi Ashe went into labor in the lobby of their apartment building, where she gave birth to their son Axel. He shared on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” on Monday night, “We get into the lobby of our building, I have called an Uber, the Uber is outside and we basically get to the steps of our building — we're in the lobby and we're walking down the steps — and my wife says, ‘I can’t get in the car, I’m gonna have the baby right now.'”
“She lied down in our lobby... we undressed her and the baby was just out, the head of the baby was out,” Meyers continued. “This is how fast it happened. I called 911 and over the course of a minute conversation, I basically said, ‘We’re about to have a baby, we’re having a baby, we had a baby.’ I went from someone, like, calling about an emergency to just sharing good news with a stranger.”
After Alexi gave birth, the fire department and NYPD arrived to an “insane” amount of people in the lobby.
Seth and Alexi are also parents to son Ashe, 2. Ashe's delievery was also a nail-biter; Meyers said they feared he would be born in an Uber, but was born in a hospital 20 minutes after the couple arrived.
