‘Extra’ Exclusive! Megyn Kelly on Michael Cohen’s Threats, Plus: Why She Wants Harvey Weinstein on Her Daytime TV Show
In an exclusive interview, “Extra's” AJ Calloway went behind the scenes with Megyn Kelly on “Megyn Kelly Today,” where she spoke about her recent revelation of being threatened by President Trump's attorney Michael Cohen, her excitement about the royal wedding, and who her dream guest for the show would be!
Regarding her drama with Trump's lawyer, the Daytime Emmy nominee told AJ, “The truth is that Michael Cohen does have a history of threatening people and I am one of them. It was explicit and it was at a time when temperatures were already at a fever pitch after that debate in August of 2015. Trump was stirring the waters, but Michael Cohen added to it... He did not care about the death threats, he did not care that I was walking around New York City with three young kids while he was encouraging people to gut me... Michael Cohen does threaten people, and it wasn't just me — there have been others as well.”
While her daytime talk show is a change from her former show on Fox News, how does she feel about politics today? Megyn revealed, “I try not to get too agitated over it. My general philosophy is that most of the media are but puppets on Trump's stage. He does this and they all dance. That's what he wants. He wants for all of the reporters to be talking about him.”
Trump aside, Kelly's very excited about the upcoming royal wedding, sharing, “I'm very into the royal wedding. We're going to have an American princess! And she's diverse and divorced and a TV person — I think it's great!" She continued, "Meghan Markle makes me happy. Plus, she's made my name so much cooler. I never liked my name!”
While Megyn said she's “proud of her team” being nominated for an Outstanding Daytime Talk Show Daytime Emmy, she does have one unexpected dream guest, revealing, "Harvey Weinstein. I think we would have a robust exchange... Oh, would I like to talk to him."
