Actress Kim Cattrall posted a flyer on Twitter Sunday announcing that her 55-year-old brother, Christopher Cattrall, had gone missing in Lacombe, Alberta, Canada.
Fans circulated the news all day in hopes of helping, but the story has a tragic outcome — Cattrall updated her followers with a grim announcement of Christopher's passing.

Fans and friends frantically tried to help.
"It is with great sadness that myself and my family announce the unexpected passing of our son and brother, Chris Cattrall," she wrote. "At this time we ask for privacy but we want to thank you all on social media for your outpouring of love and support in this trying time."

Christopher, called Chris by family members, had not been seen near his home since January 30. According to the BBC, Chris's keys, phone and wallet were left on a table in his house, and his seven dogs were left alone.
