President Donald Trump is being slammed for his latest tweets about MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” co-hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough.
On Thursday morning, Mika and Joe criticized Trump’s presidency, something they’ve done over the past few months. It seemed to strike a nerve with Trump, who fired back on Twitter.
He tweeted, "I heard poorly rated @Morning_Joe speaks badly of me (don’t watch anymore). Then how come low I.Q. Crazy Mika, along with Psycho Joe, came to Mar-a-Lago 3 nights in a row around New Year’s Eve, and insisted on joining me. She was bleeding badly from a face-lift. I said no!”
Mika reacted to his comments with a pic of a Cheerios cereal box with “made for little hands” written on it. She appeared to be poking fun at the size of Trump’s hands, something Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter first mocked in a 1984 GQ magazine profile of Trump.
MSNBC called Trump out in a statement: "It’s a sad day for America when the President spends his time bullying, lying and spewing petty personal attacks instead of doing his job.”
Trump’s wife Melania defended him via her communications manager Stephanie Grisham. CNN reporter Hunter Schwarz tweeted a statement from Grisham, which read, “As the First Lady has stated publicly in the past, when her husband gets attacked, he will punch 10 times harder."
After reading his tweets, many took to social media to voice their disapproval over his comments, including celebrities. Chelsea Handler tweeted, "Like every woman you’ve married hasn’t had a face lift. U should also get one. And a body lift. And yes, w/this duck, its ok to man shame.”
Chrissy Teigen added, "You are a national embarrassment. It’s like you have no idea how to even fake being a normal human being. You are the proud type of insane.”
