After Pepsi pulled the plug on her controversial ad, Kendall Jenner has not commented publicly on the fiasco.
A source told Us Weekly that the model “feels horrible” after the commercial sparked major criticism for making light of current political movements, including Black Lives Matter. She has since deleted all social media posts promoting her Pepsi ad.
In the commercial, Jenner is seen offering a can of Pepsi to a San Francisco police officer during a rally, which results in the crowd cheering.
Less than a day after the commercial hit the web, Pepsi apologized in a statement, saying, "Pepsi was trying to project a global message of unity, peace and understanding. Clearly, we missed the mark, and we apologize. We did not intend to make light of any serious issue. We are pulling the content and halting any further rollout. We also apologize for putting Kendall Jenner in this position.”
Another insider said that Kendall had no say in the commercial concept, telling Us, "Kendall had zero involvement in the creative process. The spot was finalized prior to signing her as a spokesperson.”
