In a recent declaration, Mel B accused her estranged husband Stephen Belafonte of abusing her and impregnating their nanny, Lorraine Gilles.
In the documents, obtained by “Extra” and first reported by TMZ, Mel claims that Belafonte had sex with Gilles, who was their nanny for seven years. She said, “[He] would degrade me in front of her by comparing me to Lorraine, telling me how much younger and better-looking she was. I later discovered that [he] was having sex with Lorraine and was paying her inordinate amounts of money.”
After Belafonte reportedly broke the news to the “America’s Got Talent” judge that Gilles was pregnant with his baby, he allegedly "wanted her to have the baby and all three of us live together. I was shocked and in disbelief.”
Mel claims that Stephen eventually changed his tune and demanded that Gilles have an abortion, saying, "[He] used money earned by me to pay for Lorraine's abortion, and he used money earned by me to pay for Lorraine's hotel stay while she recuperated from the procedure."
He also allegedly used $300,000 of Mel’s money to pay Gilles “for alleged nanny services.”
In 2015, Mel made the decision to fire Lorraine, which was not approved by Stephen. She said, "When I did, [Belafonte] went ballistic. He screamed and yelled at me for some three straight hours. He told me that Lorraine raised our children far better than I ever could. He told me that she was his 'ride or die b**tch' and the only woman in his life that completely had his back.”
“[He] stated to me, 'No matter what she will always be in my life. How dare you fire her.' When he finally calmed down he told me to shut up and listen — instructing and demanding that I call Lorraine, apologise profusely, beg her to come back, re-hire her, and give her a raise. He then threatened, 'You do realise that Lorraine could be a witness against you and give a story to the press and tell child services. Your career will be ruined.' This was just another threat in a long line of threats made by [him],” she reiterated.
After succumbing to Stephen’s alleged treats, Mel claims she rehired Lorraine. She said, "This time however, [he] treated Lorraine as if she was his wife and I was second rate. His demeaning comments towards me made in Lorraine's presence became worse. Lorraine felt empowered by this and became manipulative and demanding of me, knowing that I could not fire her.”
Mel would go on to fire Lorraine again in 2016, the same year Gilles married Michael Bleau. According to Mel, Stephen gave $60,000 to Bleau’s company without her knowledge.
Lorraine’s sister Jacquelyn Baartz told DailyMail.com that her sister was never pregnant with Belafonte's baby, saying, "My sister and I are very, very close and I would have known about this, believe me. I don't know where this is coming from. She worked for the family for seven years and had nothing but positive experiences. She really loved those kids as if they were her own, so she stayed on much longer than she originally planned to.”
Baartz elaborated, "I am sure my sister would have told me if there had been fights like have been alleged. But she never did. She is married now and trying to get on with her life. I don't believe she ever got paid anything like the amount of money that the court papers say."
Lorraine's husband Michael Bleau told "Extra" on Wednesday morning, "Lorraine is unable to comment at this time."
According to Model Mayhem, Gilles, 26, is an aspiring model from Germany. For her profile, she wrote, "I moved to Los Angeles five years ago for modeling and acting. I recently changed my career plans and dedicated my time completely to modeling and acting.”
