It’s a whole new Mama June when she and her family return to TV in “Mama June: From Not to Hot!” Her daughters, Alana (known as Honey Boo Boo) and Lauryn (known as Pumpkin), spoke with “Extra’s” AJ Calloway in NYC today, giving us the scoop on what we will see in the WE tv docudrama, including how Mama June lost a ton of weight after undergoing weight loss surgery.
Pumpkin revealed, “Well, there's certain things you have to watch for, but I think when everyone sees her, it'll be like —because nobody is gonna recognize her. I barely recognize her sometimes.” She added, “You're gonna see Mama's transformation first and then you're gonna see her gettin' skinnier and her having a trainer now — all, everything.”
Of all the procedures her mom has had, Pumpkin said, “She had the gastric sleeve, and then she starting lose weight so her stomach fat started hangin' so she got all that chopped off. She got her arms — they call them bat wings — she got those chopped off. Then her neck, double chin started sagging more, so she got that taken off as well.” June is reportedly down to a size 4. Pumpkin said, “Yeah, she looks really good.”
Honey Boo Boo agreed, saying her mama definitely looks “hot" to her!
The show also documents Mama June's return to the dating scene after her ex, Sugar Bear, the father of Honey Boo Boo, got married to another woman. Honey Boo Boo doesn’t seem too happy about her mom hitting the dating scene, saying of her date mates, “I don't know 'bout them.” There are a couple of men in the running, and Pumpkin is setting her standards high. “They gotta have kids,” she said. “They gotta be able to deal with us because once they meet us, it's a world awakening from there. But other than that, they gotta treat her right... if not, they gonna cash me ousside, howbow dah?"
Pumpkin, already taken, got engaged when she was 16. She’s now 17 and her fiancé is 20. “It was a year in December, and we're supposed to get married next year,” she revealed. Her fiancé has Boo Boo’s seal of approval. Boo Boo admitted, “He treats her good."
