Charlie Rose Takes ‘CBS This Morning’ Break to Undergo Heart Surgery

"CBS This Morning” anchor Charlie Rose is taking a leave of absence to undergo heart surgery.
The 75-year-old is scheduled for surgery on Thursday. In an email to CBS staffers, Rose revealed that doctors will be replacing an artificial aorta valve, which has been in his body for 15 years.
He wrote, "I can't wait to be back completely rested with my heart recharged, my passion for the work ahead purposeful and my joy at life's pleasures high."
Rose is expected to return to “CBS This Morning” next month. While he is recovering, Josh Elliott and Anthony Mason will be filling in.
