The Harlem native has long been a fan of the classic shoe. "Reebok has always been a brand that's been very special to my heart ever since I was young,” she said. "Freestyles were all I wanted to wear growing up, so it feels like everything's come full circle with this partnership. I'm honored to be the face of the Freestyle campaign for everything it stood for yesterday and what it still represents today.”
The Freestyle was first introduced in 1982 as the first fitness sneaker designed for women. The groundbreaking silhouette represented fearlessness and bold expression, something Teyana represents, as she is known for her provocative moves, unapologetic style, and freedom of language in music, fashion and dance.
As brand ambassador, Teyana joins Reebok's innovative and inspirational team of creators: Future, Gigi Hadid and Kendrick Lamar.
