The 70-year-old made fans very happy with word of her new tour, Classic Cher, as well her Las Vegas residency in 2017 at the new Park Theater Monte Carlo, before heading off to Washington, DC to wrap up the tour in March.
As for what to expect from the Classic Cher tour, she revealed, “I'm trying to give people something that if they come to the show and they've been a fan that they will get all the things that they loved, I'm trying to go the beginning till now.”
Cher will be belting out all of her chart-topping classics and bringing her iconic looks with at least a dozen outfit changes. “All the songs have their look, they got their signature, so I think I only stay in one outfit for two songs.”
The Oscar, Emmy, Grammy and Golden Globe winner also spoke candidly about her political views, something she has been vocal about on social media. She slammed Republican nominee Donald Trump, commenting, “I'm horrified. With every fiber of my real self I could not imagine a world where there was a President Trump... I don't know how other people cannot see he really is unhinged.”
She went on, "Could you imagine him, there being a crisis and they break in the news and he's at the podium saying North Korea just sent a missile to South Korea, but Scotland is doing great… this guy knows nothing about politics, the government, the world, he has no idea.”
Aside from Trump, Cher is also not an admirer of his wife Melania. “She goes down the staircase in the beginning, then she is just there with him and then there's all the naked pictures, and then she has that speech and you go to Mrs. Obama's speech and it's like that, then he does the thing on the bus and she goes, 'that's boy talk, and Billy egged him on and those girls are lying.'”
Cher said that if Melania has an issue with being in the spotlight, then being First Lady is "not right for her."
What is right... Classic Cher launches in February 2017, running from Feb. 8 - Feb. 25 in Las Vegas, then moving on to The Theater at MGM National Harbor for three days in March. Tickets go on sale Sunday.
