Olympic Gymnast Gabby Douglas Recovering from Surgery

Gymnast Gabby Douglas is on the road to recovery after undergoing surgery.
The Olympic gold medalist explained what happened via Instagram. "Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know that I'm doing ok!” she wrote. “I had a complication from a prior injury that caused a cyst to grow on a bone in my mouth. Got it removed and feeling much better now. Thanks for all your concerns and prayers and HUGE thank you to the doctors that have taken care of me these last four days! #ontheroadtorecovery #butIstillgottagetthesewisdomteethout."

Douglas missed out on the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday because of her health. Hopefully, she will recover in time for the 2016 Miss America Competition on September 11, which will air live on ABC. Gabby will serve as a judge alongside Mark Cuban, Sara Foster, Cole Swindell, Ciara, Laura Marano, and former Miss America Sharlene Wells Hawkes.
