Will Smith Blasts Donald Trump for ‘Embarrassing’ America
Actor Will Smith is opening fire on Republican nominee Donald Trump in Dubai, where he is currently promoting his blockbuster film “Suicide Squad."
At a press conference, Smith shared, "As painful as it is to hear Donald Trump talk and as embarrassing as it is as an American to hear him talk, I think it's good. We get to know who people are and now we get to cleanse it out of our country.”
Trump recently sparked controversy on his proposed ban on Muslim immigration. In a speech, he said, "When I am elected, I will suspend immigration from areas of the world when there is a proven history of terrorism against the United States, Europe, or our allies, until we understand how to end these threats.” Smith went on about being in the country, which is 60% Muslim, “In terms of Islamophobia in America, for me, that's why it's important to show up.”
Smith has slammed the former “The Apprentice” host in the past, making it known how much he disapproves of the idea of Trump becoming president. He reiterated to News.com.au, “For me, deep down in my heart, I believe that America won't and we can't [elect Mr Trump]."
Will is also not a fan of Donald's feud with Rosie O'Donnell. He pointed out, “For a man to be able to publicly refer to a woman as a fat pig, that makes me teary. And for people to applaud, that is absolutely f**king insanity to me. My grandmother would have smacked my teeth out of my head if I had referred to a woman as a fat pig. And I cannot understand how people can clap for that. It's absolutely collective insanity.”
He went on, "If one of my sons, I am getting furious just thinking about it, if one of my sons said that in a public place, they couldn't even live in my house anymore.”
