Pippa Middleton and her boyfriend James Matthews are engaged!
On Tuesday, Middleton confirmed the rumors by stepping out of her London home with a huge rock on her left ring finger. When cameras asked her about the engagement, she gushed she “couldn't be happier."
Middleton and Matthews said in a separate statement, "Miss Pippa Middleton and Mr. James Matthews are delighted to announce they became engaged on Sunday, July 17, and plan to marry next year.”
Matthews, who runs Eden Rock Capital Management, reportedly popped the question while they spent some time together at the Lake District of Northwest England.
Pippa's older sister Kate also released a statement through a spokesperson for Kensington Palace, who said, "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are absolutely delighted with the news.”
Pippa's dad added about the engagement, "They make a wonderful couple and we wish them every happiness together.” Another close source revealed to People, "Her parents really do like him a lot and he spends quite a lot of time with the Middletons. Carole in particular is very approving. Everyone agrees that they are very well-suited in many ways."
The pair first dated in 2012, but eventually split. She went on to date Nico Jackson for three years until they split last year. Middleton and Matthews rekindled their romance three months after her split from Jackson.
