Hilaria Baldwin Reveals What She Loves About Pregnancies
“Extra's” Hilaria Baldwin shows off her baby bump on the cover of Fit Pregnancy and Baby's latest issue, where she opens up about her third pregnancy.
Hilaria and her husband Alec Baldwin are expecting their bundle of joy in the fall. She shared about making babies, “Between three pregnancies and breastfeeding, I've not had my body to myself in years. It's easy to find that overwhelming. But as much as pregnancy brings aches, pains, sleeplessness, and all kinds of very uncomfortable things, there's something so special about the fact that you can create life. I look at Carmen, and I think, 'I made you.' I mean, my husband had something to do with it too, but the incubation, the growing, the delivery — that's my job, and it's incredible.”
Through three pregnancies, Hilaria has learned how to be at peace with her changing body. She said, “When I was pregnant with Carmen, I was constantly nervous. Every time I went to the bathroom, I'd think, 'Am I going to be bleeding?' I was also so obsessed with her movements that I hated it when I couldn't feel her. With Rafa, I had less time to worry, because I was so busy with Carmen. Now, with this one? I hardly even know what week I am, and that's fine. It's all good!”
Hilaria also revealed why she used labor drugs while giving birth to her two other children, Carmen and Rafael. She explained, “I'd originally wanted to have my kids without drugs, but I ended up having epidurals for both. It gives you just enough relief, so you feel happy and present but not numb. With Rafa, I labored without one for 15 hours, and I was in extreme pain. Then I got the shot, and suddenly I was smiling. I love giving birth, probably because of the drugs.”
