Over the weekend, George Clooney and wife Amal met with Pope Francis in Vatican City.
The power couple attended the Pope’s Un Muro o Un Ponte Seminary at Paul VI Hall, where George was also recognized for his work with Francis’ arts foundation Scholas Occurrentes.
George was awarded with a medal in front of other big stars, including Salma Hayek and Richard Gere. George, Salma, and Richard are all serving as ambassadors for the foundation’s art projects.
At the event, George told the audience, “The one thing that we know is that hatred and bigotry has to be taught. We aren’t born this way… and the fact that Pope Francis and all of you are involving people at such a young age in the schools, the idea that inclusion is the only way we’re gonna make it, that to me is what is so spectacular about what you all are doing. This is a wonderful program that were working on.” Watch!
While speaking, George also made sure to include Amal, who stunned in an Atelier Versace dress and Jimmy Choo shoes. He said, “My wife Amal and I are very happy to be here with all of you.”
On Monday, George and Amal were seen holding hands while they left their Rome hotel and made their way to the airport in Ciampino.
